  2. only been here once for lunch. The instant noodles were so unremarkable that I wondered what all the fuss was about. Never went back.

  4. I've lived in Hong Kong for half my life a long long time ago, but never knew this place existed until after I left. And I only found out because of "Eating out Miracles" TV show with that really annoying host (Mr Chan who hosted HK version of Who Wants to be Millionaire). Even back in 2000/2001, Lan Fong Yuen was popular with tourists. Seems like this is more like a fun place for people (tourist) watching and for writers of HK visitor guidebooks/HK tourism association literature to do research. I think if I were to come here, I would just sit at on the wooden stool, order a hot milk tea, and then say I was here, but not sit down and eat. That butter toast looks like what my grandmother used to eat at Maxim's fast food for breakfast. :-o Thank you KC for your well grounded perspective. I'm sure this place, as overly mainstream as it is now, is better than what we can get in the USA, which is not saying a lot.

  5. It opens a branch at the HK-Macau ferry terminal in Sheung Wan with much more space where you could have breakfast + newspaper. I also ordered a glass of milk tea there, which was superb. And same as you, I ordered the toast only to meet the minimum requirement ($20). OK the toast was just.... a toast. Yet the milk tea alone, in my opinion, worth more than $20. So, ok la~~~
