Salmon, plus maguro and hamachi are the fattiest of the fish, and have more fans than white-fleshed fish overall, and some prefer the excess of just those types over tasting a balanced meal of variety, textures (some forget there are other seafood choices out there..shellfish, fish eggs, crustaceans etc etc).

There are many Japanese restaurants and food establishments in Taipei that also don't like people taking pictures, I think part of the reason is old fashioned thinking of easy access to copying other restaurant ideas by "spies".

And I understand some business owners prefer to survive through a tight circle of customers, would rather the internet go away so there are no reviews of them or pictures online of their food. And they want to only rely on word of mouth/recommendation by their regulars to trusted friends, rather than risking random criticism.

About a week ago, a Los Angeles Times newspaper anonymous food critic tried to dine at a restaurant. Apparently someone tipped the manager what she really looked like. When she (the critic) arrived at the restaurant, the manager took her picture and published it online (the restaurant's website) and many media outlets got the story. Not only did the critic lose her anonymity (she kept it secret for 15 years) but the restaurant refused her reservation and kicked her out, in a way trying to protect their image.
